Paystack the fastest growing fintech company has officially announced today the launching of a new way for businesses to collect payment which is pay with APPLE PAY on its platform.
This is a piece of good news because it enables businesses to start collecting payments using the apple pay option.
Apple pays only made its way into Africa [ South Africa ] this march 2021 despite having a presence in almost all the continent.
South African users with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards can access the payment service from five banks — Nedbank, Absa, FirstRand Bank, Investec, and Discovery.
This launch in South Africa shows that Apple was keen or interested in penetrating the African market, but the tech giant didn't say if it was going to expand to other regions like Nigeria.
This made paystack really interested.
Instead of waiting for Apple pay, Paystack took the initiative to integrate the payment option into its platform.
Making paystack the first Nigerian payment gateway to accept payment with Apple pay. This is a good move by the company.
The company in a statement called the integration "The fastest and secure way for Nigerians and other African countries to collect international payments"
This means a customer with Apple pay enabled can now see the option of pay with Apple pay on the checkout page of a business using the paystack payment gateway.
Paystack has enjoyed massive growth over the years, Businesses using Wix, Shopify, etc can also integrate paystack and start collecting payments locally or internationally.
